The Holiday Show!
On 12/11/24 we heard stories about all the unforgettable moments that define the season. From ill-fated family gatherings and heartwarming traditions, to the most memorable (literal or metaphorical) gifts we’ve ever given or received. Our amazing lineup made us laugh, cry, and everything in between. Happy Holidays!
Team 20s - Blush Ellis
Blush Ellis is a poet-writer-comedy person from the made-up land of central jersey. She has proudly worked with and featured for several arts events and organizations, including “project write now”, “soup can magazine”, “conscious creatives”, and “coffee and words”, among others. You can normally find her on instagram @blushthepoet or @blushthebunny. If not, she’s either lost at dick’s sporting goods (again) or she could be in the big field out yonder. You’ll have to bring the flashlight and check.
Team 30s - Mannikka Rosa
Mannikka is a certified Administrator for K-12 schools, an adjunct professor at Monmouth U., and former special education teacher. She recently launched a podcast with her 3 best friends called, You Can Call Me, Karen. And when she isn’t with her husband, 3 children, and their dog you can find her watching dysfunctional reality T.V. or yelling “weeeeee” as she rides her bike down the long hills in town.
]Team 40s - Dina Khattar
Dina was born in Cairo, raised in California, and now calls New Jersey home. Her life has been filled with creativity and adventure. She was formerly the lead singer in a band and theater performer with Broadway dreams. Now, she channels her passion for the arts through painting, writing and open mic nights for poetry and comedy. A skilled massage therapist, Dina empowers others to listen to their bodies and hearts. She is a natural connector and thrives on bringing people together, and is known for her warmth, laughter and unforgettable hugs.
Team 50s - Lucie Dickenson
Lucie Dickenson, author of the award-winning and #1 bestseller The Anxious Hippie, is a writer, speaker, energy healer, and anxiety coach. Her passion is helping others understand that their life stories hold the key to healing. Lucie owns StarLight Books, whose mission is to publish books that bring light into the world.
Team 60s - Pamela Major
Pamela A. Major is the creator and founder of Melia Bloom, a lifestyle services company that empowers people, places, and purpose. Major has a profound belief that in taking the adventure to grow we can always have the delight and opportunity to be better. Major is a dynamic speaker, author, playwright, storyteller, and empowerment coach. She has a unique ability to put into context the needs of an organization or individual and provides practical insights to help them achieve and succeed. One of Major’s most prominent programs is the Viral Vision Adventure (Vi-VA).
Team 70s - Nancy Francese
Nancy taught English, Journalism and Developmental Reading for 25 years at Freehold Township High School, retiring in 2011. She also taught Creative Writing and Developmental Reading at Ocean County College and Brookdale Community College for eight years. Nancy has participated in memoir classes at PWN for the last four years and has had three memoir pieces published in Bright Flash Literary Review, Sad Girls Literary Magazine and The Dewdrop. Currently she is working on her first draft of a book length memoir about her experiences living on a farm in Ohio, attending college as a single mom, and her teaching career. She lives in Red Bank, is an avid golfer and can often be seen with her grandchildren at Crazee’s.
